Time is extraordinarily picking up it's pace. These past couple of years have been challenging for us, the Earth and the environment, but nothing like we've seen in the last couple of years. The COVID-19 crisis and politically charged atmosphere has changed the world in ways that seem very destructive to our loving energy and existence with one another. However, if you delve deeper from a spiritual perspective, our environment started to heal; families spent more time together and we found new ways to stay connected even though we practiced social distance. There was far less smog and emissions being pumped into our atmosphere because people were working from home. These are just some examples of how our Creator is attempting to wake us by exposing the ugly truths of our humanity.
And, if this horrible virus wasn't enough, there are so many other issues we've been experiencing for years that are now out of control (pollution, climate change, racial disparities widening for ethnic people of color, the opioid addiction/overdose crisis, lack of proper healthcare for all, threat of war and famine). Kindness in today's world may be too easily dismissed as a "soft" issue, or a luxury to be addressed after these urgent problems are solved. Our previous government leaders drastically failed us and have allowed many unnecessary deaths to occur when federal stay-at-home orders should have been mandated a year ago when COVID-19 first appeared in the United States. Now we have Monkey Pox and Polio spreading around the globe. In the midst of these scary and sad multiple global challenges my friend, I still believe kindness is our greatest need in this world. Let us project kindness toward the environment, toward other nations, toward our family, friends and even enemies -- specifically kindness for the needs of people who are suffering and alone.
It is said you can tell a person's true heart by the way he or she treats children, the elderly and animals. Care to ponder why? Because these are innocents who are totally dependent on the love and care of others. Until we reflect truth and kindness in everything we do, any real political gestures will be fleeting and fragile. Everyone must play a part in their own way to create this paradigm shift. It is time for us to ban together both physically and spiritually to love and restore one another - to realize we are all connected. What will be your first step today toward this change?
