Understanding Transforms

While we practice our spirituality, if we are not aware that the world is suffering, that children are dying of hunger, that social injustice is going on, we are not practicing mindfulness. We are to love our enemy - this teaches us to look at the person(s) we consider to be the cause of our suffering. If we practice looking deeply into the situation and causes of how he/she came to be this way, and if we imagine ourselves being born into that same situation, might we have ended up the same way?
